Opening words & Reference Materials

Hello and welcome! I'd like to preface by saying my blog isn't based on just one canon. I know Rock is only really known for Metropolis here in the west, as that's how I discovered him myself, but I've since gone out of my way to read and watch a whole slew of things he's appeared in over the years and have taken to combining them to create my own interpretation of the character. I suppose in that sense this blog could be considered canon divergent, but I'm not a fan of the term in this case since I actually do adhere as close to canon as possible. I'm just working with a lot of material here so some deviation is necessary for it all to work together. You don't have to agree with everything I write, but do try to be respectful. With that out of the way, let's move on.

It's a page from The Art of Osamu Tezuka by Helen McCarthy, which I would highly recommend if you want to learn more about Tezuka's life and works. Of course, my nitpicky ass doesn't enitrely agree with what's written in this particular section, but it's good as a basic introdution to Rock's character and history.
